Your personal site should be your online identity and push syndicate everything out to community/social sites with perma(short)links back to your original on your own site. Then reverse syndicate all comments/tags/notes etc. on those social sites back to your own site so you have a copy if and when the social sites get acquired, shut down, blocked, banned, or just happen to go offline for a myriad of other reasons.1 comment

This was the meeting that made RelMeAuth real.
After Jeff Lindsay and I tweeted about it (

2,
3(
t)) the previous evening, and discussed the basics over dinner with fellow microformatters, Jeff and Paul Tarjan went off and coded a working RelMeAuth library and prototype client in Python. Less than 36 hours from concept to proof-of-concept. A couple of months later I wrote up the
RelMeAuth details on the microformats.org wiki.
And now we have a working PHP library and prototype as well:

3D printed Microformats logo
Special Thanks to the folks from
AltLab in Lisbon for answering all my questions about their 3D printer and for printing the microformats logo. There was some trial and error to get it the settings and temperature right, but i think they came out great! This one was left on the raft to demonstrate what a raw printout looks like before cleaning it up.
