Il World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), insieme con altri gruppi e organismi di standardizzazione, ha fondato le tecnologie per la creazione e interpretazione di contenuti basati sul Web. Queste tecnologie, che noi chiamiamo “standard del Web”, sono accuratamente progettate per offrire tutti i vantaggi del Web al maggior numero di utenti e, nello stesso tempo, per assicurare lunga vita a qualsiasi documento pubblicato sul Web. L'intervento, proposto al RomeCamp 2007, riassume a grandi linee tali Standard e il loro utilizzo. Da XHTML a CSS, dall'UTF-8 a ECMAscript, dalle etichette ICRA ai metadati.

Web Semantico: da XHTML a RDF in 3 click propone una via molto semplice per entrare nel Semantic Web senza fatica. Dopo una brevissima introduzione al concetto di Web Semantico vedremo come creare con un click un hCalendar (Microformat per gli eventi), convertirlo in RDF/XML tramite un XSL con GRDDL (una nuova tecnologia del W3C che permette di estrarre RDF) e utilizzare i dati ottenuti come desideriamo (Storage, Timeline, Grafo o altro).

The Connection Machine

A talk given at the STM Innovations seminar in December 2006. The talk provides a fleeting history of hypertext and suggests that many recent innovations in web technology were pre-dated by early hypertext research, and hence this proves to be fertile territory for looking for new directions. The presentation also suggests how publishers can be "Good hypertext publishers" and promotes the idea of "deep web integration".

Comparou também a adoção inicial de Microformats com o padrão de adoção de novas tecnologias abertas, em especial o RSS. Using and Enabling the Emerging GeoStack

Geographic tools have emerged that use open-standards and support users creating and sharing their own geodata. Together, these tools form a GeoStack that enable the entire lifecycle of data. Publish Blogging tools, geotagged photographs, mobile devices, and geolocation enable people to capture and share their stories, travels, and news. Sites like Platial, Flickr, or Ning have also embraced open standards, allowing users to export and reuse their data. Transport GeoRSS, KML, and GPX are just some of the data format standards that can carry geographic information from provider to consumer. Aggregate Services such as Mapufacture mix and match feeds of data from their source to potential users. Keyword and geographic searches can provide useful collections from various sources. Consume Mapstraction, OpenLayers, GoogleEarth, and other geographic visualization libraries and tools make it possible to view and display various geographic information. In addition, it is possible to store user-created maps and points of interest to their mobile devices and GPS receivers for use when on the move. This talk will discuss the technologies that currently comprise the GeoStack and how it is enabling users to share and use geographic data. Developers can fit their tools into any point along this stack, or add to existing services. We'll also discuss the future of the geotools. O'Reilly Home |
